A note from our Principal:
The staff at Lockney Elementary is ready for another exciting year. The teachers and other staff have been hard at work getting classrooms and the entire building ready for your children.
In case you haven’t heard our campus received “Recognized” status from the Texas Education Agency due to our great TAKS scores, good student attendance, and other factors too numerous to mention! What this means to you as a parent is that you can be assured that your child is receiving a good education at our school. While we like to take credit for what we do here in the elementary, we owe you, our parents, a thank you for the part you take in your child’s education. Things that you do at home to prepare your children for the school day matter a lot. A good night’s sleep, a satisfying breakfast and getting to school on time help your child more than you can imagine.
A note about our schedule this year: the High school and Junior High will have a different schedule, while the elementary campus will keep with the traditional day.

A few “Housekeeping Items”
- We appreciate your involvement and help at our campus and encourage you to take time to visit your child and our building. For the safety of the students and staff we ask that you check in with the front office so that we know who is in the building at all times.
- The circular drive on the east side or front of the building is for busses only. Do not drop students off on 8th street and ask them to walk across the bus lane.
- Do not park in the car lane on the south side of the building. This lane is for dropping off or picking up students. If you would like to park and bring your child to the building, please park in one of the many spots in the south parking lot.
- The parking lot to the east on 8th street is reserved for staff. We ask that you refrain form parking in those spots and that you not block them in to drop off or pick up students.
