High School Band Activities for 2009-2010
Night rehearsals during marching season will be EVERY Tuesday night from 7:00 - 9:15 PM. Attendance is required.

| Sept 26 - Saturday | WTAC Competition @ Coronado HS in Lubbock. LHS Flags and possibly Percussion |
| Sept. 29 - Tuesday | All-Region Jazz Band tryouts @ Abilene Wylie. Several HS students will audition; all other HS band members will rehearse |
| Oct. 5 - Monday | Marching Clinic with Barry Hurt. He wrote the music for our UIL show. 7:00 - 9:15 PM @ the stadium |
| Oct. 10 - Saturday | Plainview Marching Festival - afternoon |
| Oct. 17 - Saturday | UIL Region Marching Contest @ Lubbock |
| Oct. 24 - Saturday | UIL Area Marching Contest @ Lubbock |
| Nov. 2 - Monday | UIL State Marching Contest in Austin |
| Dec. 5 - Saturday | JH All-Region Band tryouts @ Shallowater. Many 7th and 8th graders will audition |
| Dec. 12 - Saturday | Honor Band tryouts @ Cooper. Several HS students will audition |
| Dec. 17 - Thursday | HOLIDAY CONCERT -- All Lockney Bands. Concerts start @ 6:30 PM |
| Jan. 9 - Saturday | Area All-State Band tryouts @ Cooper. Several HS students will audition |
| Jan. 14 - Thursday | Class A-AA All-Region Band tryouts @ Abernathy. Many HS band members will audition |
| Jan. 29-30 - Friday-Saturday | All-Region Band rehearsals @ Civic Center in Lubbock. Several HS and JH band members will be involved |
| Feb. 20 - Saturday | UIL Solo & Ensemble competition @ Coronado. Several HS band members will compete |
| Mar. 11 - Thursday | UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest @ Sundown HS Auditorium. All eligible HS band members will compete |
| May 7-8 - Friday-Saturday | JH Bands will participate @ the Abernathy Band Festival |
| May 14-17 - Friday-Monday | HS Band Trip. Most HS Band members will participate |
| May 20 - Thursday | SPRING CONCERT -- All Lockney Bands. Concerts start @ 6:30 PM |
| May 28 - Friday | Graduation Band practice with Seniors. 10:00 to 10:45 |
| May 28 - Friday | Graduation Band performs @ LHS Gym. 7:30 PM |
| May 31 - Monday | UIL State Solo & Ensemble competition @ Texas State University in San Marcos. Several HS band members will compete |
